Quintel Launches Flexible Wireless Antenna Sharing Solution

Quintel (News - Alert), a company specializing in the design, development and delivery of antenna sharing solutions, has developed new wireless QTilt service architecture and gained two new ISO certifications.

Quintel's antenna sharing solutions allow multiple wireless operators, or one operator to deploy multiple air interfaces on a standard antenna platform. According to Quintel, this capability dramatically reduces capital and operational requirements while enhancing network quality or capacity.

Quintel’s patented QTilt technology provides operators the freedom to simultaneously host multiple service standards - including Global System for Mobile communications (GSM), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), Universal Mobile Telecommunications Service (UMTS), High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA), Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Wireless Interoperability (WiMAX (News - Alert)) - on a single, conventional antenna.

QTilt solutions are based on radio frequency transmissions with high digital capability. They provide operators more optimization freedom and simplify overall network design, yield higher field reliability and lower operational costs than mechanical and electro-mechanical alternatives available today.

The most important feature of QTilt solutions is its independent ‘tilt per service,’ which provides design flexibility that is important for achieving cost-effective spectrum re-farming and service upgrades, as well as multi-operator site and antenna sharing.

Quintel also received two ISO certifications: Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9001:2000 and Environmental Assurance System ISO 14001:2004.

Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9001:2000 is a quality management system that supports Quintel management in managing the business to an internationally recognized standard. This Standard guarantees that Quintel products meet quality, environmental friendliness, safety, reliability, efficiency and interchangeability at an economical cost.

The certification also acts as a business improvement tool and provides the company with appropriate processes and procedures for ensuring 'right first time' delivery to effectively manage growth.

The Environmental Assurance System ISO 14001:2004 reduces negative impact on the environment both in Quintel products and processes.

“The QTilt service architecture directly addresses feedback and support from market leading service providers that are challenged and limited by the state of wireless delivery products today,” said Steve Obsitnik, chairman of Quintel.

“QTilt allows our customers to provide highly flexible applications that address real business problems impacting wireless network roll-out and consolidation. The ISO certifications enable us to apply recognized international processes and standards to our business ensuring quality as we address the needs of our global customer base,” Obsitnik explained.
