Truphone reportedly announced the launch of Truphone (News - Alert) Local Anywhere, a global GSM service that makes all calling truly local for businesses and consumers who travel frequently.

 

The company is a next-generation mobile operator that specializes in innovative solutions to optimize global mobile communications.

 

The Truphone offering owes itself to the smart SIM card that provides mobile numbers and local rates for voice, data and text services for all countries where Truphone service is available on a single SIM. Consumers will be able to benefit from savings on roaming charges in 185 countries world wide.

 

The company also announced that it has entered a Mobile Virtual Network Operator partnership with Vodafone (News - Alert) U.K. This will allow delivery of voice and data services for Truphone Local Anywhere customers in U.K.

 

Truphone Local Anywhere actually eliminates the need for users to swap SIM cards, change mobile devices or use complex dial-back systems to avoid spending on roaming charges.

 

The service which is available today in the United Kingdom and the United States will be soon available to several other key business and leisure destinations in 2010. This will include Europe and long-haul destinations like Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa.

This service is expected to offer significant savings and also enhance mobile phone usage for consumers whether in their home country or abroad.
