Broadcore Expands Its Hosted UC Capabilities

Broadcore, a provider of hosted unified communications service for businesses, has expanded its hosted UC capabilities.

The company has announced Broadcore (News - Alert) Unity, a set of expanded solutions for its integrated IP communications platform.

According to company officials, Broadcore Unity combines key voice and data communications elements designed to help businesses optimize their business processes and improve employee productivity.

"We are very excited to provide expanded unified communications capabilities to our business customers," said Monty Ferdowsi, CEO, Broadcore, in a statement.

Ferdowsi said that the Broadcore’s solutions allow businesses to improve their internal and external communications, thereby improving their business processes, customer response time and workgroup collaboration.

Company officials said that Broadcore Unity combines various elements of data and voice communications including call control, IM, presence and six-way calling accessible through an intuitive, icon-based Windows client.

Broadcore Unity, company officials said, also provides expanded call control so that users can manage multiple calls through call control buttons on their desktop, as well as click-to-dial from their Outlook contacts or company directories.

Broadcore Unity supports integration with LDAP compliant and SQL directories (including Active Directory and Lotus Notes) to provide contact lookup from a single interface. Other capabilities include in-depth service and profile configuration from the desktop.

Back in February CTI Group (Holdings) Inc., a developer of wireless and VoIP recording, analysis and invoice management applications, had announced that its United States operation partnered with Broadcore to provide SmartRecord IP through BroadSoft's (News - Alert) BroadWorks platform.

SmartRecord IP is a VoIP call recording solution with industry leading security, retrieval and archival features and a virtual user-interface with global accessibility.

By joining forces with CTI Group (News - Alert) to provide call recording, Broadcore is now able to offer call recording on its hosted telephony service. And not just any call recording! CTI Group's SmartRecord IP is web-based, and therefore available to anyone with an internet connection. In fact, the call can be recorded in one location and reviewed in another. Another feature of CTI Group’s call recording is that SmartRecord IP only records the calls that are marked to be recorded.
These calls can be marked beforehand or during the duration of the call, but the calls that are not indicated to be recorded will not be recorded at all. Therefore, the customer is only charged for the calls they need and retrieval of recorded calls is much easier; in fact, retrieval is as easy as search and select.
