Ceryx Intros Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 R2
Ceryx, a provider of enterprise-grade messaging, collaboration and unified communication services, has reportedly introduced Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communication Server 2007 R2.
With this introduction, company expects to move further in the direction of being able to provide full UC functionality with custom configuration and integration options for large organizations.
Microsoft Office Communications Server provides functionalities such as corporate-grade instant messaging, presence, complete UC including full voice over Internet protocol integration.
Company officials said that the full UC solution allows organizations to “dramatically” reduce telephony costs by replacing their traditional phone systems with VoIP systems. In addition, they can benefit from tight audio, video and text messaging integration across office phone, Microsoft Outlook and mobile devices.
Additionally, Ceryx will support the integration with legacy PBX (News - Alert)/PSTN switches currently supported by Microsoft to provide choice to organizations facing telephony upgrades. Also, the company will be support the federation with business partners, content archiving with multiple vendors and public IM connectivity.
Gus Harsfai, CEO and president at Ceryx, said that the company is committed to the Microsoft platform and continues to develop its long-term road map based on the market leader in messaging.
“We also recognize that many organizations have made significant investments in other technologies and we are focused on delivering solutions that can leverage and integrate those investments,” Harsfai said in a statement.
OCS is a “highly functional” and “flexible” session initiation protocol controller that has allowed the company to build its own SIP filters to secure our multi-tenant environment, said Dr. Dave Penny, CTO at Ceryx, adding that OCS is a great platform that allows customization so that its full potential can be realized.
Ceryx Hosted OCS standard includes secure, corporate-grade IM and presence, peer-to-peer video and audio chat and is also integrated with Exchange and SharePoint.
