AVST Showcases CallXpress 8 UC Platform at the 2009 ACUTA Fall Seminar

Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc., or “AVST,” is showcasing its CallXpress 8 Unified Communications (News - Alert) platform at an upcoming 2009 seminar.

Company officials said that their CallXpress 8 was designed to cater to customer demand for a pathway to unified communications, or “UC,” that ensures the protection of their current and future communications infrastructure and also deliver mission critical features including centralization, high availability and enhanced mobility options.

During the seminar, AVST (News - Alert) said that company president and CEO Hardy Myers presented a breakout session titled “Secure a Strong ROI on Your Legacy Voicemail Replacement,” that illustrated how to migrate to UC from a legacy voicemail environment effectively.

Universities are continually looking to increase the productivity of faculty, staff and students who are increasingly mobile, and improve their overall communications, while at the same time providing a cost-effective communications system. And also many universities and colleges still employ legacy voicemail systems that are long overdue for replacement or upgrade.

At the ACUTA lecture, Myers explained how educational institutions can benefit from replacing their voice messaging systems with the latest UC technologies such as the CallXpress 8 platform. The session’s attendees were also helped in figuring out ten key steps to building an affordable, phased migration from legacy voicemail solutions to UC, resulting in a strong return on their UC investment.

Denny Michael (News - Alert), AVST's vice president of Marketing, said that the company has seen great success in the higher education marketplace and looks forward to participating in all of the ACUTA regional seminars. They are helping more higher education campuses replace their outdated voicemail systems, providing them with a next-generation communications-enabled platform that supports their UC needs.

Company officials said that the CallXpress 8 is a natural fit for the ACUTA audience, making it the perfect place to co-strategize, while providing attendees with a forum to share information and actively participate in the development of AVST's future offerings.

Recently AVST offered cost saving incentives for Nortel (News - Alert) customers and Aculab’s Prosody X media processing platform was chosen by AVST for Call Xpress 8.
