VBrick's Enterprise Media System Integrates With IBM UC Platform

VBrick’s flagship Enterprise Media System is now able to seamlessly integrate with the IBM (News - Alert) Lotus Sametime unified communications platform, company officials announced this week. The solution enables enterprise users to assimilate IP video streaming with key unified communications applications like instant messaging, telephony and Web conferencing.

The integration of VEMS with Sametime has provided users with unparalleled collaboration benefits, company sources said. Users will now be able to search for and view live and on-demand video, share contacts and chat with content creators, without leaving the Sametime client.

VBrick (News - Alert) Enterprise Media System is the only complete, integrated hardware and software system for distributing live or on-demand video and rich media presentations throughout a global enterprise. VEMS uses advanced bandwidth optimization to route users to the best location to receive video content, without impacting the performance of other networked applications. VEMS’ user interface and search capabilities combine to form a complete video management system that can scale to manage IP video streaming for a large number of concurrent users across an enterprise, company officials said.

The VEMS Plug-In for Sametime makes live and stored enterprise video assets available through Sametime with a simple Plug-In that lists IP video content within the Sametime portal. This enables users to integrate IP video streaming into some of Sametime’s popular features like instant messaging. In addition, the video watching experience is highly interactive as users can chat with video content creators, comment and quickly share videos with friends and colleagues on their contact lists.

According to Vince Graziani, CEO of VBrick, the integration with IBM Lotus Sametime is proof of VBrick’s determination to establish IP video streaming as an essential component to an enterprise unified communications strategy. Sametime users around the world have started recognizing the power of IP video streaming to more effectively broadcast internal and external communications.

VBrick provides Enterprise IP Video solutions that work over standard IP networks and the Internet to deliver rich media communications to connect people. VBrick’s comprehensive product suite and end-to-end solutions are used in a range of live and on-demand applications like meeting and event broadcasts, distance learning, digital signage, TV distribution, video surveillance and Web-based marketing campaigns.
