Samsung Mobile, DiVitas Announce the Availability of Mobile UC Solution

Samsung Telecommunications America, in association with DiVitas Networks, a provider of mobile unified communications, announced recently the availability of the DiVitas (News - Alert) Mobile UC solution on Samsung smartphones based on the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform.

As reported by DiVitas, this is the first commercially available mobile UC solution on Samsung (News - Alert) smartphones for both CPE-based and hosted deployments.

With the release of Samsung Mobile Innovator’s Software Developer Kit version 1.2.0 on July 27, Samsung and DiVitas signed a partnership agreement to enhance the mobile unified communications experience on the Samsung phones with support from Microsoft (News - Alert) for Windows Mobile.

“The DiVitas Mobile UC solution is a prime example of how Samsung Mobile is collaborating with other proven innovators to strengthen our efficient and flexible offerings to enterprise businesses and users,” said Gavin Kim, vice president, Content, Data Services and Enterprise Mobility, Samsung Mobile.

“Businesses and their workforces look to smartphones to stay connected and productive while out of the office. The DiVitas solution, integrated with Samsung Mobile devices, raises the bar even higher by merging the landline desk phone connection with the mobile smartphone user and mobilizing UC capabilities to ensure user productivity and collaboration,” added Kim.

As mentioned in the release, one of the key features of the DiVitas Mobile UC Client on the Samsung smartphones is the ability to mobilize and combine Business Voice and IM with social networking. The DiVitas Mobile UC solution is integrated with Samsung Mobile’s broad portfolio of smartphones operating on both CDMA and GSM wireless networks, including the Samsung Omnia, Samsung Epix and Samsung Saga.

“Providing our customers with a best of breed Mobile UC solution requires cooperation from closely related technology providers that are far bigger than DiVitas,” said Vivek Khuller, president and chief executive officer at DiVitas Networks (News - Alert).

“I have been personally impressed by how aggressively the Samsung team has executed on this alliance. It is clear to me that this is a company that is 100 percent committed to becoming a leading voice in the enterprise mobility space, and I am pleased to be standing beside them,” Khuller added.

Samsung will be demonstrating DiVitas enterprise social networking and seamless voice Handoff on Samsung Windows Mobile Smartphones at CTIA (News - Alert) this week.
