VBrick's 'VEMS' Offers Comprehensive Hardware and Software System Components For Unified Communications

VBrick (News - Alert) has launched its VBrick Enterprise Media System in a bid to reaffirm the company’s commitment to IP video streaming as an important and critical part of unified communications.

VEMS is the first comprehensive integrated hardware and software system which will enable dissemination of live video and other rich media presentations pervading the entire enterprise. It makes use of cutting-edge bandwidth optimization technology to smartly redirect users to the best location to view video without adversely affecting the performance of other networked applications. Thus, users are prevented from obtaining several video streams from low bandwidth WAN links.

VEMS also combines an intelligent user interface with advanced search functionalities to offer a total video management system which can be easily scaled upwards to suit the needs of thousands of simultaneous users across the length and breadth of the enterprise, thanks to its advanced VBrick Reflectors appliance which is installed on the network edge.

One of the biggest mobile telecommunications companies globally, Vodafone (News - Alert), is among the clients of VBrick who make use of its solutions to communicate with colleagues and partners with IP video.

“As a mobile industry innovator that for more than 20 years has continuously transformed global communications, we pride ourselves on using the most advanced communications technologies to manage highly effective and profitable internal operations,” said Armin Hessler, head of customer and IT service operations at Vodafone. “Only VBrick could offer an end-to-end solution to enable our teams to use high-impact IP video streaming to more effectively communicate across a vast network of 79,000 employees and offices in 27 countries on five continents."

VEMS is now integrated with a added plug-in for IBM (News - Alert) Lotus Sametime, thereby enabling enterprise clients to smoothly combine their video, in such varied uses like instant messaging, telephony, email and web conferencing, with IBM’s celebrated unified communications application and regulate its content and dissemination with VEMS. Users can search and view live and on-demand video and rich media presentations while still being logged on to the Sametime application.

This also allows better management of live feeds from high-end CEO/ executive level broadcasts for instant employee communications. VEMS also installs quickly within any IT framework. This greatly reduces the time and cost expenditure by enterprises thereby taking them that much closer to the great advantages which are integral in live and on-demand IP video streaming.
