UC Security's Sipera Systems Inks Partnership with TrustNet
Sipera Systems, a real-time unified communications security company, reportedly has announced that it has formed a partnership with TrustNet.
The partnership has been formed to boost the secure handling of credit card data in enterprises that are deploying VoIP and UC while complying with the industry standard for payment card security.
A PCI DSS Qualified Security Assessor, TrustNet provides guidance and assessment services to enterprises seeking to achieve PCI DSS compliance. Sipera’s security appliances provide comprehensive security and control over VoIP and UC while its VIPER Lab provides VoIP and UC security assessment services.
Adam Boone (News - Alert), vice president of marketing at Sipera Systems, said that working with TrustNet, “we’re applying our UC security expertise to PCI DSS, enabling PCI-compliant businesses to continue to protect their data while deploying cost-effective VoIP and unified communications.”
In addition to guidance, Sipera and TrustNet are also offering enterprises functionality to ensure that their VoIP and UC implementations are consistent with security best practices and support their efforts to achieve and maintain PCI DSS compliance.
Companies’ officials noted that without addressing the new security challenges of the evolving communications infrastructure, enterprises put themselves at risk for payment card data theft, compromised transaction privacy, and loss of consumer trust.
“We are working with Sipera to help enterprises navigate the transformation to VoIP and UC while maintaining the right security posture to safeguard consumer data,” said Trevor Horwitz, principal at TrustNet.
The Sipera UC-Sec products are comprehensive, real-time UC security solutions that simplify and protect next-generation communications over any network to any device.
Earlier this month, Sipera Systems (News - Alert) said that VoIP toll fraud continues to escalate based on evidence it has uncovered in numerous VoIP and UC architectures. The company claimed that losses incurred from these incidents – which affect both enterprises and service providers – range from a few thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
