CallTower Announces Hosted Microsoft-Based Unified Communications Solution
Hosted enterprise communications are gaining momentum- thanks to their ability to deliver fast results and ROI without the need for expensive infrastructure and network upgrades.
CallTower (News - Alert), which provides managed enterprise-class unified communications solutions for growing businesses, now joins the fray with a new on-demand unified communications solution based on the latest version of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 R2.
The new offering, according to company officials, “provides a cost effective, powerful option for growing businesses seeking enterprise-class unified communications capabilities without the expense of owning or managing it.”
The offering also provides a single interface and bill for telephony services, Web and audio conferencing, unified messaging, voice to text, text to voice, Internet, presence, screen pops and more.
In addition, CallTower’s hosted OCS does not require any other telephone system or softswitch to be involved and the system can use any Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communicator compatible phone as the primary telephony platform.
Not only do these capabilities streamline the way businesses communicate, but they also provide users with the convenience of communicating with others instantly from the applications they use the most.
“Many growing businesses are already familiar with and want the productivity gains that Microsoft OCS 2007 provides, and by offering it as a hosted service with PBX (News - Alert)-like functionality natively delivered by OCS, we can make it affordable to customers that could not before consider such an advanced technology,” said Bob Barnes, executive vice president, Sales, Marketing and Business Development at CallTower.
Apart from these benefits, CallTower's unified communications solutions offer a single point of support, productivity-enhancing features and 24/7 service for a fixed monthly fee.
CallTower's communications services are based on the Cisco (News - Alert) CallManager, Cisco IP Contact Center and Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Office Communications Server through the proprietary CallTower vXML VoiceCube voice messaging platform.
Recently, the company’s On-Demand Unified Communications (News - Alert) Solution won Unified Communications magazine’s Product of the Year Award for 2008, distinguishing them among the companies that have ground-breaking advancements to UC technologies in the past year.
Last month, the company also made headlines with the announcement that it now offers a hosted solution that integrates Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager).
