Sterling Commerce Releases a Commissioned Study on Comprehensive Integration Solution
Focusing on the need for a comprehensive integration solution (CIS), Sterling Commerce has released the findings of a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting. The study is named “The Value of a Comprehensive Integration Solution”
The survey states that a huge number of participants wanted to improve their integration capabilities in 2009. The respondents felt that their existing integration infrastructure was not very effective in helping them to respond quickly to integration challenges. The survey states that many integration solutions suffer from issues such as lack of capabilities that enable the companies to handle the integration issues.
“This research is critical in helping our customers better understand and address the game-changing improvements they can make to solve the integration complexities across their entire business community," said Ken Ramoutar, vice president, Global Product and Industry Marketing, Sterling Commerce (News - Alert). “By revealing the inadequacies in integration capabilities against needs, the research highlights the need for a comprehensive integration strategy and provides strategic guidance to help companies move toward a strategy.”
According to Forrester (News - Alert) Consulting, CIS can be defined as “a selection of pre-integrated components designed to handle enterprise application integration (EAI), B2B integration (B2Bi) that includes support for both EDI and XML, trading partner management (TPM) support, business process management (BPM) for process integration, managed file transfer (MFT) capability, and model-driven application development features.” The CIS will help the companies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and offer better support for partners.
There can be various benefits in adopting CIS, states the survey. They are support for complex integration processes across the value chain, better process visibility, agile integration, lower maintenance and operating cost and improved operational efficiencies.
Recently, Sterling Commerce announced that the company was awarded the Excellence in Industry Solutions Award for Financial Services by the China Computer World Media Group, based on the Bank of China's implementation of Sterling Managed File Transfer (MFT). The company claims that many financial companies have already implemented Sterling MFT as its data transmission solution.
