DSS Corporation Opts for NENA's NG Partner Program

DSS Corporation has announced that it is participating in NENA’s  NG Partner Program. The National Emergency Number Association sponsors the program "To develop, coordinate, and integrate the foundation for an evolved, fully-functional, 'Next Generation E9-1-1' system."

The present 911 system was not well equipped to handle the present mobile public communications technology in wireless multimedia and there was a need to evolve.

There was a requirement to communicate with the 911 center by voice, as well as text and multimedia messaging, with pictures and video. Also, data involving as emergency medical requirements and automated vehicle crash data needed to be handled by the PSAP for public communications.

The NG Partner Program by NENA brings voluntary, open, unified approach to enable Next Generation E9-1-1 systems and services.

DSS has been providing of Public Safety voice recording solutions since last 20 years. Its product, Equature, is the only Unified Communications (News - Alert) Intelligence platform in the market.

Jeff Vezina, Director of Sales for DSS, said, "Equature was designed to capture every type of communication in today's environment - voice, text, video, email, data, and even web interactions."

He also says that the company is well positioned for the future, and that DSS can make a significant contribution to the NG Partner Program as the company had already been working with these technologies for many years.

DSS General Manager Joe Mosed stated, “Our whole focus from day one was to capture all communications going in or out of the PSAP, regardless of type. It just made sense for us to participate in this group, because we'd been committed to the whole NG-911 concept from the beginning."

DSS has big plans for the year 2009, and is looking forward to replace the existing "voice-only" recorders in the market.

The corporation has been in the area of communications recording solutions for the Public Safety market and is also active in the general Call Center market space. Equature is the company's product for capturing and managing all communications, regardless of type.

NENA is a non-profit organization for technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system (9-1-1).
