Anagran to Provide HD Services to a Ultra-Luxury Hotels
Entiretec has selected Anagran’s (News - Alert) flow-based traffic management products to deliver custom HD video, voice and data services for a group of ultra-luxury hotels.
According to Anagran, the first installation is for the Movenpick Hotels and Resorts in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and consists of five Anagran FR-1000 flow manager devices.
The purpose of deploying FR-1000 is to provide hotel guests with custom configurable quality content on state of the art communication and entertainment systems. The preferences include preferred language; local business, news and weather feeds from anywhere in the world; preferred TV, movie, and music channels; and preferred streaming and video-on-demand selections custom-chosen by the hotel guest either prior to their arrival or based on their own profile established from previous visits.
Anagran claims that its flow-based traffic management products eliminate the potentially crippling effects of network congestion to enable video, voice, data and wireless traffic to economically scale with flawless quality over converged IP networks. Their FR-1000 protects all key network traffic by managing end-to-end flows based on their behavior to ensure required quality and performance levels.
Entiretec develops and operates universal communication platforms for IT infrastructures.
“The Dubai luxury hotel market is extremely competitive, and our customers have exceptionally high standards when it comes to their entertainment and communication systems,” said Thomas Herrmann, CEO of Entiretec. “For example, the Movenpick Hotel demands perfect HD video quality, all the time, without compromise. At the same time, other applications like VoIP and data must still thrive on the same converged network. We considered some DPI-based devices to manage this rich multimedia traffic, but none could match the precision, speed, and scalability of Anagran at a small fraction of the cost of any other alternative.”
For Entiretec in particular, the FR-1000’s ability to optimally manage the rate of every flow to ensure perfect HD video at speeds up to 10 Gbps and beyond proved to be a decisive factor in Entiretec’s selection process.
The officials say that in Dubai, luxury hotels compete at a level a cut above anyplace else in the world. In a city where “only the best” is not just a goal but the expectation, the FR-1000 was chosen to enable hotels’ customized video and multimedia entertainment systems to provide the ultimate user experience for every guest.
Anagran claims that the FR-1000 can avail highest level of performance of video, voice and other multimedia traffic to be sustained even during periods of extremely high “busy hour” network activity by safeguarding key network traffic from other forms of “invasive” or capacity-hungry applications. HD video is already a demanding app and when it is combined with legacy traffic of all flavors, there is a tendency to push the cost and quality envelope of any network. By optimally managing the rate of every flow per its traffic type, the FR-1000 finally removes the network as the last impediment to true real-time application performance.
Anagran also claims that it can help companies like Entiretec in taking the next big leap forward in networking.
