Mirial, BCS Global Partnership Reaches New Heights with Visual Communications

In less than a year, Mirial and BCS Global say their partnership has made HD video conferencing simple and affordable, and has led to its spread as a communications standard.

Headquartered in London, the Virtual Presence and iView suite of services from BCS Global make video conferencing easy to use, simple to connect and affordable, BCS officials say.

According to Dan Tanel, the Chief Technology Officer at BCS Global, Mirial (News - Alert) products interoperate perfectly with BCS equipment and are fully compliant with communication standards.

“The integration of their technology in our environment proceeds smoothly, and the new service’s time to market is definitely shorter than we expected,” Tanel said. “The recently released version of MCS supports all the advanced Mirial softphone features, including HD video quality, 3-party video conferencing and desktop sharing capabilities and we are now enabled to offer different services to specific user segments at a worldwide scale.”

The integration of Mirials’ Video and Voice Mail and Automated Video Attendant technology into BCS Global’s Virtual Presence Services began during the end of 2007, according to the companies. At the same time, BCS started enriching its iView service with Mirial’s HD desktop video conferencing, basic MCU and H239 features due to customer demands for greater flexibility.

Future plans include introducing Mirial’s MCS session border controller within the global infrastructure of BCS, to improve the level of diffusion of desktop videoconferencing and desktop telepresence. Plans also call for integration of PSE Video Contact Center with the philosophy of BCS by providing a one-to-one contact with the end users in order to better overall service experience.

Cristoforo Mione (News - Alert), the Business Development Director for Mirial has said that as the partnership with BCS Global goes on, Mirial finds application cues and ideas for compelling usage scenarios every day.

“That happens because video has a really huge potential, and our standards-compliant technologies allow us to exploit it all,” Mione said. “Also, we are glad to notice that nice “netiquette” and more popular amongst the video conferencing users; we believe that it is a sign of their increased familiarity with visual communication technology and hope that our collaboration with BCS Global will help support this trend.”
