Geek Terminal Provides E-Lounge for Mobile Execs Through Cisco UC
Geek Terminal, a concept café in Singapore, will be using Cisco Unified Communications (News - Alert) and wireless solutions for its technology upgrading efforts. This is expected to offer mobile business executives with a highly secure access to integrated voice, video and wireless networking for providing continuous connectivity and for enhancing business productivity.
SuperInternet, a managed services provider and a Cisco (News - Alert) Premier Certified Partner, will be implementing the technology at Geek Terminal. The upgrade will be anchored by the Cisco Smart Business Communications System (SBCS), and will include Cisco Unified IP
phones for providing access to voice and video call as well as to the café menus and customer bills.
Cisco will also offer integrated firewall functionality and VPN
connectivity. Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Points will provide wireless connectivity, WiFi (News - Alert) certified to the 802.11n draft 2.0 standards.
Geek Terminal employees and visitors will benefit from applications developed by NexLabs, which are made available on Cisco Unified IP phones. SMARTEssentials provide users instant information by news services and information feeds. SMARTDisplay allows for dynamic images that will be displayed on phones, offering advertising facilities for Geek.
In addition, the SMARTArchitect, a visual content management system, allows uploading of images and creation of phone menus, which is convenient and does not require the writing of any code.
