Nortel Chooses 724 Solutions' Seamless Messaging Solution
724 Solutions (News - Alert) offering seamless communications for IP
based domains announced that Nortel (News - Alert) has chosen 724’s Seamless Messaging solution.
724 Solutions providing next-generation mobile data solutions said in a press release that its Seamless Messaging solution allows transparent messaging between enterprise and mobile networks. This will benefit Nortel’s leading Fixed Mobile Convergence (News - Alert) (FMC) Enterprise solutions including Nortel’s Communication Server 1000 and CallPilot Unified Messaging.
The 724 Seamless Messaging along with Nortel’s FMC Enterprise solutions allows seamless routing
of messages which is based on the state of individual enterprise users. This solution enables enterprises to communicate with their mobile workforce making optimum use of their existing messaging system.
The seamless routing of the messages to the device used by the subscriber in the enterprise is in a format and context such that it can be delivered to the client devices conveniently. Nortel’s CallPilot Unified Messaging
platform together with 724’s Seamless Messaging can also seamlessly deliver voice mail alerts to users in the mobile messaging network.
John Sims (News - Alert), Chief Executive Officer of 724 Solutions said, “Seamless Messaging is a powerful approach that enables the bridging of messaging services from traditional mobile messaging to IP-based domains, enabling messages to follow the subscriber, seamlessly.”
Commenting on the alliance with Nortel he said, “Our collaboration with Nortel is the second market application of this breakthrough approach, and gives existing service providers a way to gain a competitive advantage over the new entrants with VoIP-only services.”
Agreeing with Sims, Peter Kelly, President, Enterprise at Nortel EMEA, pointed out that this alliance takes Nortel and its FMC strategy a step forward.
Kelly added, “We see the ability for users to communicate effortlessly as critical to an efficient business, people shouldn’t have to think whether people are mobile or in the office before they try to communicate. Our select partnership with 724 Solutions opens up our Enterprise FMC strategy to exciting new capabilities and we look forward to working with our EMEA resellers to drive these solutions into the market.”
The Seamless Messaging from 724 Solutions does not require that all subscribers should upgrade to the same technology. Communication is possible between subscribers and services from various domains.
The Seamless Messaging uses network assets like identity and presence in order to route and adapt messages through the network. The messages are delivered in the format that best suits the environment in which the user is operating, according to 724 Solutions.
