SEPATON Inks Reseller Agreement with German Storage Specialist HMK Group

SEPATON, a provider of in enterprise-class disk-based data protection platforms, announced a reseller agreement with HMK, a leading European provider of enterprise storage solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, HMK Group, which specializes in the designing, delivering and supporting enterprise storage solutions, will resell and support SEPATON’s solutions across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
HMK’s solutions comprise data storage and disaster recovery, data center technologies and other high-performance solutions, incorporating clustering and super-computing technologies, company officials said.
Following this agreement, HMK now has access to SEPATON data protection platform to incorporate backup, restore, deduplication, and replication into its offerings, according to the announcement.
Through this agreement SEPATON hopes to increases the footprint for its products in Europe.
Rolf Lange, sales director Central Europe for SEPATON, said, “HMK Group is a large and serious player in Europe that is instantly recognized by regional storage managers and data specialists looking to address the challenges of handling large volumes of data.”
HMK’s high-caliber portfolio of products, solutions and support is relied upon by household names, commercial leaders and scientific departments across the DACH region, Lange added.
Both companies have already launched a co-operative marketing and sales plan to target specific enterprise customers with SEPATON’s S2100-ES2 series data protection platforms, which can handle large data volumes with rapid backup and restore speeds as well as highly efficient deduplication.

Adding SEPATON’s range of enterprise-class data protection solutions to HMK portfolio substantially improves their options for data protection, lifecycle of backup, deduplication, restore and long-term retention solutions, Mühl-Kühner added.
Initially HMK will be co-marketing SEPATON’s virtual tape library solutions. With the ability to backup petabytes of data at up to 17TB per hour, this technology will surpass the expectations of even our most sophisticated and data-driven customers, Mühl-Kühner said.
“This new partnership will provide SEPATON with access to new prospects through innovative storage combinations that meet the needs of continental European organizations,” said Jon Mills, EMEA managing director for SEPATON, in a statement.
Recently SEPATON also announced that its disk-based data protection appliance, S2100-ES2, has been qualified as supporting Symantec’s NetBackup OpenStorage or “OST” application programming interface or “API.”
